- Wisdom was established in creation by our Creator (Proverbs 8:27-29)
- Wisdom delights in our creator (Proverbs 8:30-31)
To be wise in the world we must know who established wisdom in the world. (Proverbs 30:3-4)
- Jesus is the Creator’s wisdom revealed (Hebrews 1:1-3, John 1:1-3)
- To be wise know Jesus
- Jesus is the Creator’s wisdom ruling (Colossians 1:15-21, Revelation 4:11)
- To be wise make Jesus king
- Jesus is the Creator’s wisdom lived (John 1:14 ; John 14:6)
- To be wise live with Jesus
- Jesus is God’s wisdom that rescues. (1 Corinthians 1:29-31)
- To be wise boast in Jesus
QUESTIONS
- MEMORIZE: Psalm 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures
- Where do you see God’s wisdom in the world? What in creation causes you to have joy and praise God? In what ways could you be more aware of God’s wisdom in creation?
- We may all obviously answer the Bible and prayer to the following question. But what are some other answers that might enhance these things as we pursue Christ?
- How are you tempted to deviate from Jesus as the way? What would it look like to follow Jesus as the way to God each day?
- What things determine how you think or feel each day? How should you be allowing him to define your reality?
- What things are leading you away from God and sucking the life from your days? How can you instead pursue life in God each day?
- In what ways do you struggle to embrace the wisdom of Jesus as your King? What areas of life would make more sense if you allowed Jesus to rule?
- As you read Proverbs do you struggle with guilt or condemnation? How does understanding Jesus as your wisdom and righteousness in Proverbs free you from condemnation? What does it look like to boast in Christ as our righteousness?
