Proverbs 3:5-6 Where is Wisdom?
- Run to God’s Wisdom (3:5a)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
- Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
- Flee Your wisdom (3:5b)
and do not lean on your own understanding
- Proverbs 28:26 Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
- Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin”?
- Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
- Proverbs 1:20-23 Wisdom cries aloud in the street in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? If you turn at my reproof behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;I will make my words known to you.
- Proverbs 10:8 The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
- Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
- Live all of life before Him (3:6a)
In all your ways acknowledge him,

- Proverbs 5:21 For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his paths.

and he will make straight your paths.
- Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.
- Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap,but its every decision is from the LORD.
- Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand

What trial are you currently enduring in which you need to look to God’s word for peace? How has trying to endure by your own understanding affected the way you see this moment in life? What verses would help you turn from your understanding to God’s for peace?
What self centered thoughts and desires do you need to turn from? What scripture would help to correct these desires and lead in your obedience?
Are there specific people you need to seek out for wisdom and guidance? Who are the people who will tell you the truth and walk with you in obedience?
Are there areas of life in your life where you are refusing to acknowledge God? What new daily routines could you begin to set your ways apart to God? What kinda prayers could you pray over your ways? What Scripture could you memorize to guide you in the way God would have you go?
What hope does it give you knowing that God’s plans and purposes for you cannot be thwarted? How is this freeing when thinking about God’s will daily?
What major life decisions are you anxious about? How would choosing to obey God in what you know to do each day make those decisions easier? How would choosing to simply obey Jesus’ command, “Follow me!” make life more simple?
